Ive been riding bikes as long as i can remember, BMX in the eighties, then on to MTB as we got 'older', originaly it was about climbing hills and steep descents, the sport has developed so much now, and its on a boom as an industry, with global racing getting F1 status.
With bike parks all over the Uk its easy to go and ride without having to think too much about navigation , as you can follow well signposted trails with some great man made features.
My local spot is Hamsterley Forest, it offers great singletrack, many man made trails and a world class Downhill Bike Park for the experienced rider. I ride there 2-3 times a week, where i had graduated up to riding Downhill a lot, until November 2016, when I had a simple knock that resulted in a major fracture of my lower leg.
Totally life changing, the best thing i done was getting back on a bike as it probably saved my leg, i had to learn to walk and ride all over again, but it brought me to where I am now, back to the roots, getting out and riding from a map and just getting out there.
As a full time airbrush artist its a great escape from the fumes and indoors, a good work out for my tired lungs, so i plan my rides for the rider who just wants to get out and explore, whether its linking man made trails to make a good ride out, or finding hidden gems, or exploring across moorland and hills on the bridlepaths and byways, Strava and the likes seams to have pushed riders to treat every ride like its a challenge or race, I hope i can offer a more relaxed approach and make the rides and routes enjoyable for all abilities,
I can take you round the Bike Park trails, saving you lost time trying to find the gems, or we can go exploring, or maybe link it all, from west coast to east coast, theres a lot out there.
Get in touch and tell me what you are looking for in a ride, 1 on 1, or groups, families or clubs.
